Eat Well Guide

My friend Sharon turned me on to this BRILLIANT site. Just type in your zip code and find all the sustainable food options within a particular radius.

I discovered a new organic restaurant that we're going to try out with the girlies this week and a farmer's market that's open through December, so it'll be easier to procure local food well into fall. + It would be especially helpful in avoiding the fast food wasteland on your next road trip.

I'm addicted. Check it out!

  1. fun! thanks for sharng this!
if you're interested in a fab cookbook, check out my givaway!

  2. THAT is an awesome site! I just found 2 new restaurant in my area I'd never even heard of! Great post, thanks!!!

  3. Thanks - this is awesome! I am in a smaller city (500,000) and didn't expect to find so many options available to me right here!

  4. It appears, that I live in a black hole... apparently, you can't eat well in Wilmington, DE. I'll have to suggest some entries for them because I know that's not so!

  5. yay! something to check out for our trip home!

  6. I just stumbled upon the news that Michael Pollan is putting out a version of The Omnivore's Dilemma for kids. It's not being released until October, but I wanted to share before I forgot about it. This is exciting news to me and I don't even have kids!

  9. Dear Raising Foodies,

Thanks so much for mentioning the Eat Well Guide! I intern for the Eat Well Guide, and it's definitely an excellent resource for not only finding sustainable and local food in your area, but across the U.S. and Canada as well. I am glad you are taking advantage of it! I would also suggest checking out our blog, the Green Fork for additional information on the local food movement.

  10. Thanks Aly!
I love this eating well guide and the blog.
    great job!

  11. I love love love both of your blogs. I'll have you know, my zip code produced 0 results. Boo. No wonder I have to drive so far to find good food. There is a farmer's market about 20 minutes away at least...the upside is there is no temptation for take-out, so I cook almost every meal!
